Exploring EFL Students’ Metacognitive Knowledge Based On Their Listening Abilities in Lubuklinggau

Metacognition, as a 21st-century skill, is essential in language education. Students that have this competence are those who can manage or direct their own learning experience both within and without the classroom. Since existing study found positive linkage between concept success learning, particularly listening, it critical to be conscious of metacognitive knowledge listening comprehension. Thus, current aims investigate EFL undergraduate students Lubuklinggau, South Sumatera, based on abilities. This divides information into three categories: self, techniques, task needs.To elicit research data, there were types data collection tools, namely questionnaire, test semi-structured interview used quantitative qualitative methods case approach. The findings indicated high abilities better compared middle low Then, also able benefit effective strategies, improving outside Therefore, students’ has potential role helping them become successful learners.
